The real life people who keep every lecture honest.

RobotParrot is built by AI, but it isn't built alone. Experienced emergency physicians, educators, and AI industry experts are already helping shape what it teaches and how it's built — looking over the work and helping get it right.

What it takes

Both the medicine and the AI.

Getting this right takes both serious AI craft and strong clinical teaching — and they aren't separate camps. The people helping tend to span both, and the best work happens where the two meet.

The AI side

Keeping the AI sharp

The engineering craft that makes the engine as accurate and reliable as the technology allows.

  • Sharpen the prompt engineering. So each lecture comes out accurate, focused, and well-taught — not generic.
  • Choose the best tools. Making sure RobotParrot runs on the strongest models and tooling available for the job.
  • Keep it honest. Pushing on the guardrails that catch hallucinated facts and fabricated citations before they reach you.
The clinical side

Keeping the medicine sound

The clinical judgment that shapes the teaching material every lecture is built on.

  • Provide the material. Validated teaching pearls and clinical content, organized by diagnosis, for the engine to draw on.
  • Set the bar. Their experience defines what good teaching looks like — the standard the lectures are written to.
  • Shape the source, not every script. They build the trusted material behind the lectures; they don't hand-review each one.

Emergency physician · former hospital Chief Medical Officer · founder, RobotParrot

An emergency physician and former hospital chief medical officer, with a tenured academic background in emergency, EMS, and wilderness medicine and numerous peer-reviewed publications. He founded IdiogenicOsmoles, a medical-education-focused software development studio, over 10 years ago, and has been involved in medical education his entire career.

  • Originated the concept. First described the "robotic parrot" at the NEJM Horizons challenge in 2008.
  • Builds the engine. Directs the pipeline, the prompts, and the safety guardrails behind every lecture.
  • Brings in the expertise. Recruits the clinicians and AI practitioners who keep it honest.

Founder & CEO, Region Alert · threat intelligence

Founder of a security-intelligence platform that monitors over a hundred languages for human-verified, real-world signal — the discipline of separating trustworthy information from noise.

  • Source verification. Pressure-tests how RobotParrot decides which sources to trust and how claims get checked.
  • Signal over noise. An intelligence operator's eye for filtering reliable evidence from the rest.
  • Operational rigor. Holds the build to the standard of systems people actually rely on under pressure.

Internal medicine · former hospital Chief Medical Officer

A clinician educator who previously trained residents and served as an internal medicine residency director, chair of a department of medicine, and hospital Chief Medical Officer, and held faculty appointments at Yale and Quinnipiac.

  • Trained the trainees. Former internal medicine residency program director and Yale Primary Care clinician educator.
  • Clinical leadership. Former hospital Chief Medical Officer and former Department of Medicine chair.
  • Teaching standards. Knows what good resident education looks like — and holds the lectures to it.

Platform software engineer · scale, reliability & applied AI

A platform software engineer whose career has been spent at the intersection of scale and reliability — shaping the shared foundations behind large app ecosystems and, more recently, integrating AI into the engineering loop in ways that actually hold up under production conditions. He knows what it looks like when a system is built to last, and when it isn't.

  • Infrastructure instinct. Understands platform foundations — inside one of the most recognized app portfolios, powering applications distributed all over the world. Brings that systems lens to RobotParrot.
  • Range with receipts. Has built for defense, enterprise, regulated industries, and consumer at global scale; stakes-calibrated environments where getting it wrong has real consequences.
  • Force multiplier. Proven patterns, now with agents. Knows what they accelerate, what they obscure, and how to close the gaps they leave behind.
